Moleta Munro are delighted to be the first dealer for Another Country in Scotland.
Inspired by traditional Scandinavian, Shaker and Japanese woodwork, Another Country makes beautiful furniture. Solid in construction and style, with the spirit of a bygone age updated for the contemporary home.
Justin Baddon, Creative Director at Moleta Munro was impressed by the way Another Country had stripped the products back to the pure craftsmanship but had retained a contemporary edge to the work.
Another Country’s first collection, Series One is a clear and simple interpretation of this original intention in furniture manufacturing. The Series One products have become something of archetypes in themselves with the Series One Sofa a firm favourite. Another Country Series Two, remains true to the design values, however, the forms were inspired by the no-nonsense style of Japanese and Scandinavian furniture and the pale woods in contemporary Belgian craft production. Brass is an additional accent, adding decoration as well as structural support.
The beautiful craft of Another Country works well in a number of settings from homes to hotels. Another Country day beds were commissioned for the All England Lawn Tennis Club and Bistrotheque in East London choose bespoke Another Country benches to complement their re-vamp. The Natural Retreats site in John O’Groats features the Another Country Series One dining table and benches to create the perfect dining area for their luxury cottage.
Paul de Zwart, Founder and Creative Director, established Another Country to fill a gap in the market for well-made, long lasting products at a fair price, having failed to find the archetypal three-legged stools to use as side tables in his Dorset home. Previously, Paul had worked with Alasdhair Willis and interior designer Ilse Crawford and had worked alongside Tyler Brûle in the founding of Wallpaper* magazine. Paul took a year to research the collection and worked with a local Dorset craftsman, Dominic Parish, to refine the designs. Another Country launched with a six piece modular collection consisting of a bench, a day bed, a chair, a stool and two types of table.
