Carl Hansen CH07

 

Among the giants of Danish Modern furniture design, Hans J. Wegner is often described as “master of the chair”. He created a number of his most iconic models specifically for Carl Hansen & Son including the CH 07 Carl hansen shell chair.

The CH07 Shell chair was designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1963. A sculptural easy chair with a triangular footprint. The chair is frequently placed where it can be viewed from all sides, on its own or in groups. A pleasing complement to Wegner's round coffee table, CH_008. Sometimes called "The Smiling Chair", the three-legged construction provides absolute stability; the chair achieves a floating lightness due to its wing-like seat and the arching curves of its tapered legs.
